Sedimentological Influence on Physical Properties of a Tight Sandstone Reservoir: The Cretaceous Nenjiang Formation, Southern Songliao Basin, Northeast China

چکیده

Abstract: The Nenjiang Formation, south of Songliao Basin, has many hydrocarbon bearing units, but currently the understanding distribution viable reservoir sandstones is too limited to support a development strategy. Therefore, detailed study on sedimentary microfacies and properties been completed in order reduce uncertainty improve subsurface predictions. Nine lithofacies five associations were identified supporting model river-dominated delta front setting, which could be divided into four environments: subaqueous distributary channel-fill, mouth bar, sand sheet, interdistributary bay. sandbodies extend tongue-like form, they thin pinch out. Finally, influence process was assessed by establishing correlation between physical parameters, such as porosity, permeability, pore radius, throat clay minerals. It revealed that correspondence types strong; channel bar are best.

Palynofacies-based sequence stratigraphy of the Upper Cretaceous strata (Abderaz Formation) in east of Koppeh-Dagh Basin, Northeast of Iran

The Upper Cretaceous strata were studied in a composite stratigraphic section named here Padeha-Baghak section in east of Koppeh-Dagh basin, north east of Iran. In this study, palynostratigraphy, palynofacies and depositional environment history of Abderaz Formation were integrated with sequence stratigraphy. Determination of sea level history and sequence units of the Abderaz Formation using s...

A Thermal Maturity Analysis of the Effective Cretaceous Petroleum System in the Southern Persian Gulf Basin

Commercial hydrocarbon discoveries in the Cretaceous of the southern Persian Gulf basin provide direct evidence that there is an effective petroleum system associated with the Cretaceous series. The revised models of thermal maturity in this region are needed to investigate lateral and stratigraphic variations of thermal maturity, which have not so far been addressed in detail for this part of ...

Chemical, physical characterization and salinity distribution of the oilfield water in the Upper Sandstone Member of the Zubair reservoir at Rumaila North Oilfield, Southern Iraq

The oilfield water in the Upper Sandstone Member of the Zubair reservoir (Barriemian-Hauterivian) at Rumaila North Oil Field was investigated for the interpretation of salinity and geochemical evolution of brine compositions. The interaction of the oilfield water with reservoir rock resulted in a brine water derived from the marine water origin of partial mixing with meteoric water similar to t...
